In order to estimate the damage degree of the buildings after shock and lower the damage, we drew up and issued "post-shock building danger and usage estimation criteria" and set up building danger classification system by training architects, civil engineers, structure engineers and ground engineers, totally 1502.
Additionally, in order to lower the damage from aftershock and reassure people, we emergently issued "921 Great Earthquake Building Danger Classification Estimation Regulation in Disaster Area" with Letter Tai (88) NaiYin Word. No.887492 on Oct.1st. 1999 and provide the local governments to perform the building danger classification.

In this 921 Earthquake house damage inspection assignment, due to the limited time, we urgently coordinated architect, civil engineer, structure engineer and ground engineer associations to mobilize their own members to help local government on applying for buildings danger classification estimation

To Oct.5 1999, we have mobilized over 6405 of architects, structure engineers and ground construction engineers and finished the estimation on over 60768 buildings. After being classified, 17581 buildings were judged as dangerous buildings and 15154 buildings need to be noticed. The safe buildings are 28033.
